Have You Loved Your Bugaboo Shoes Today?

Of course, Bugaboo Shoes are near and dear to our hearts here at Giggle Bug Boutique for many reasons. I mean, they were our first step to opening our store. Are you puzzled? Let me start from the beginning!

I spent 13 years in the telecom industry, blah blah blah...When my last baby was born, I knew I didn't want to spend the rest of my life in that industry. More than anything, I wanted to stay home and just be a mom and wife for awhile. After a short time of enjoying my family, my brother called to ask if I wanted to work for his company while I was at home. NO...first of all, who really WANTS to work for their brother???? And second, what part of "I don't want a job outside of my family at the moment" did you not get? Well, this job was a little different.

My brother and his wife went to China in 2005 to adopt their daughter, Josie. While there, they bought 17 pairs of locally made shoes for her. The stylish footwear was such a hit back home in Fishers, IN they decided to return to China a year and a half later to ship some of the shoes back to Indiana to sell, thus the creation of the Bugaboo Shoe Company.

The Bugaboo Shoes now come in 17 styles for boys and girls. Tate loves his Bugaboos so much that some days he refuses to take them off during nap time. All of the shoes are made from breathable lambskin or cowhide leather and lined with pigskin leather. They have a pliable rubber sole; so the shoe moves with the natural motion of little feet. They also have additional cushion around the heal, no need to worry about blisters or rubbing. The toddler shoes have hand sewn soles so they will not split when children are learning to walk.

As I was helping my family by finding boutiques to carry these little darlings, I started meeting some really interesting people. One day, I woke up and realized that I wanted a boutique of my own. Bugaboo Shoes were my first products. In fact, they were my only products as we were creating the store. They were a big part of our inspiration too. They are cute, yet funky and mostly comfortable. That is exactly the kinds of lines we want to carry in our store. They make a huge statement. We've never gone without a comment while Tate has his on.

It's Truly Christmas Around Here

So joyfully, my very good friend, had a baby this week. We are very excited that baby Nate will share the same birthday as my husband! This is my friend, Carey, who came into my life a few years ago through a mutual friend. We share a lot in common by way of music, toddlers, husbands who love the same sports teams, food, wine and values. We always love being around them and going to concerts and sporting events. There's never a dull moment when we're all together! And since I think of her as my rocker sister, I had to send her a Born To Rock Onesie gift set by one of our favorite designers, Lowleepop!


Anyway, back to Christmas! This year my most popular item was our My Posh Petti's line! They are absolutely gorgeous! Moms from everywhere are ordering these for their daughters from ages infant to 10 years old. They make amazingly beautiful pictures. I had one mom pair a Rockin' Raspberry pettiskirt with Lollipop BabyLegs and The Velvet Marmelade Guitar shirt. Talk about a hip little diva, eh! I love that parents are stepping away from the norm and not dressing their tots in the same old Santa's Reindeer fuzzy wool sweaters. Not that I haven't done it, but I think if we ask ourselves if we'd rather rock out in a cool shirt with guitar on it or some itchy and scratchy wooly sweater, we would rather rock out!

This year, Tate will be sporting his Head Banger Shirt along with his Flames BabyLegs on his arms for not only warmth, but as he says: "Tate Power!" So keep in mind when you buy those BabyLegs, you're not only giving them a darling gift of love, but also one of power!

I have baked and cooked so many days this month, I thought I would buy myself a Christmas gift. Is that selfish? Well, I would normally not do something like that, but I really felt drawn to the Rockin Mom's Diaper Bags. They are so cute, and I'm almost to the point where Tate carries his backpack most of the time. These bags are cute and chic and don't look like the normal "baby" bag, but more like a "babe" bag! And they are great to hide that extra few pounds I always put on this time of year. Could it be the baking????? They are super cool, and super durable! I will do my very best to not spill animal crackers or apple juice in the bottom of this one!

Anyway, all of us Giggle Bug Boutique are just so thrilled how 2008 turned out. We have met so many cool customers this year. It's been so fun to receive letters thanking us for our customer service. Though we love hearing that, customer service is what we pride ourselves on here. I'm a mom and a shopper too! It will always be our number one priority! We look forward to expanding our lines this year! And we look even more forward to sharing 2009 with all friends of Giggle Bug Boutique!

Every Super Hero Needs A Cape

Who doesn’t love superheroes? They’re brave! Powerful! Have civic pride! And they wear really kick-ass costumes. But there’s something creepy about buying a plastic outfit for your child at Wal-Mart and watching him transform into a pint-size version of Batman or Spider-Man. Our little guy is completely enthralled with super powers these days. It's so fun to watch his little imagination create magic as he puts his little super hero costume on. His BabyLegs give him super strong muscles. His Bugaboo Shoes apparently make him so light on his feet, that he can fly. Poor Polo, our old K9, has become his sidekick, and together they will conquer the world saving everyone who may need it! Have no fear!!! And to complete the ensemble, I have combed the world, literally, to find the best cape designer. I believe I have done it with Baby Leo Designs.

My very first impression of the Baby Leo Designs cape was just how fabulously it's made. It's much more of a luxury blanket quality than dress up clothes. Actually the cape does function very well as a travel blanket as you can just unhook the cape when your little super hero gets tired and throw it over them for snuggling. I mean what little boy/girl would not love to go to sleep with his/her cape by their side?

What really struck me though is the actual emblem on the cape, the black background has glitter which really gives it a little extra something. A boy or a girl would absolutely love to have it. I'm still totally blown away by the quality.
