Rock N Roll: The Gift That Keeps On Giving

I consider myself a Rock Mom. Why? Well, for a couple of basic reasons. I'm a mom...and I love rock. I have discovered hundreds of Rock Mom's just like me, and they are everwhere. I've bonded with a few locally, but have connected with so many others all over the world by offering cool, hip and of course rockin' choices at Giggle Bug Boutique.

I just recently read an article siting a published study in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. Scientists have shown, at birth we already have sophisticated methods for interpreting the world. Infants as young as 2 days old can process pitch and tell if a series of notes are rising or falling in scale. And it is now known they have rhythm, too.

My boys have been subject to jam sessions every time we get into the car. My oldest at 15 who now plays a mean sax, now favors bands like "Iron Maiden," "ACDC" and "Francis Dunnery." He's probably the coolest 15 year old I have ever met. On command to "rock out" Tate will give you his famous Bret Michaels rock hand signal and stick his tongue out!

Being a rock mom has been one of my biggest inspirations behind Giggle Bug Boutique. I love babies wearing funky little shirt from Rebel Ink, Velvet Marmelade, or BabyGags. They're hip! They're funky! They make a statement!

Another designer, Lowlee Pop, we have added this year dedicates her entire line to rockin' babies out! We have the whole band: rock baby, drummer baby, guitar baby, dj baby. She pairs the onesie with pants, skirts, legwarmers, beanies, etc. Her entire line is in black. Nothing says rock baby like one of these gift sets.

I can't do a rock blog without talking up my Rockin Mom's Diaper Bags! In my business, I see cute and hip bags all the time, but these have my name written all over them. They are as functional as they are cool. The Rockin Mom Diaper Bags are accessories that are fun, edgy and totally functional! Of course we are always rockin out over here, but our motto is to create an experience for every kind of parent, baby, and even pet. We just want everyone to express themselves as their inner soul drives them. If you were a rocker, punker, skate boarder, surfer...whatever it was...the best gift you can pass to your children is knowledge. Tell them what you know and why you love it! Share your passion with them, and they will you for it!

Here Comes Spring

There are so many things that tell us spring is coming, but when you live (yes, I said, "live") in the clothing industry, your first sign of spring is the splash of color you see in a retail store! I know it's only February, but Giggle Bug Boutique could not be more ready for spring.

Our holiday went absolutely crazy with pettiskirt sales. Nothing is more beautiful than your little diva darling in her holiday pettiskirt or dress. They are absolutely gorgeous in pictures because they are so full of lush material that just seems to go on forever. They are made with over 50 yards of chiffon. Our designer doesn't miss a detail, and she knows all too well what's hip and funky. I am so proud of our pettiskirt line. And to start the spring off right, we've brought several new designs into the store.

Among the basic solids, we also have the animal prints which include giraffe, cheetah and zebra. We have dots, multi colors, and even a denim rock style! The line of two piece pettis have also expanded to include some darling chiffon tops, as well as new t-shirt designs.

If you're unsure what to pair the pettiskirt with, just add a t-shirt, a pair of BabyLegs, and some Bugaboo Shoes! Voila! You have a fashionista!

Staying on the line of dresses, we have just received our spring line of formal wear and holiday wear. I was so impressed with the beautiful colors this year. Nothing says spring to me like orange and turquoise. If you know someone getting married this year, do them a favor and send them to our holiday and formal department. They are gorgeous for Easter or spring pictures. These dresses sell out so very fast, but they can fit newborn to size 14.
